Connecting your utility account is one of the most important steps to successfully signing up with Ivy. Here’s a detailed guide on how to connect your utility account in a few simple steps.
Why this matters
When you connect your utility account, Ivy can access your actual energy usage data. This allows us to generate accurate solar bills that reflect:

But if your utility account isn’t connected, we’ll have to estimate your usage.
⚠️ Important: Estimated bills use averages and may not reflect your actual behavior, which can result in higher charges.
How to connect your utility account
Step 1: Visit the Ivy Resident Portal
Head over to https://resident.ivy.energy/login
Step 2: Enter your email
Next, enter the same email address you gave to your property management when you signed your lease.
This is important, it’s how we match you in our system.
Step 3: Check your email for a one-time code
After clicking "Continue", you’ll receive a one-time code in your email inbox. Copy the code and paste it into the login screen to continue.

Step 4: Review your account
Once you've logged in, a pop-up will show your account details. Make sure everything looks good, then click Continue.
Step 5: Connect your utility account
Now comes the key step: linking your utility account.

Your utility provider will already be pre-selected.

Just enter the username and password you use to log in to your online utility account.

Click Connect.
If your credentials are correct, you’ll see a success message. Once you receive the confirmation, your account will be successfully authorized. That’s it! 🎉
